Jávea is a coastal town encircled by both sea and mountains situated on the Costa Blanca, (Alicante), and surrounded by beautiful countryside. The town of Jávea has three distinct parts:
The Old Town. Its' narrow pedestrian only streets makes it ideal for a walk, admiring the typical houses of the region, finding restaurants, shops and many old and interesting monuments. Like the Market (Mercado de Abastos), which in ancient times was a Convent and is where you are now able to buy food, typical of this part of Spain and also fish, freshly caught in Jávea waters. The Town Hall (Ayuntamento) with its flights of steps on each side, descending, under stone arches, to a small square where you can sit on the terrace of a small bar and enjoy a drink, or try one of our traditional dishes at one of the many restaurants there.
The Port (Aduanas del Mar). This is a part of Jávea where you will find all kinds of things to see and do. Early in the evening you can see the fishing boats arrive with their daily catch. There is the beautiful Nautical Club, encircled by the Cabo La Nao nature reserve. Here you can learn to sail, go deep sea diving, rent a boat or perhaps go on an excursion along the coast.
The Sandy Beach (Playa del Arenal). This is a beautiful beach of fine sand. Do not forget to visit some of the other nearby coves along the coast - La Granadella, La Barraca, Cala Blanca.
